Cape Town is becoming increaslingly popular for the outsourcing of web design and graphic design. The last couple of years we ourselves have done several web design projects in Cape Town for foreign clients.
Like anywhere, it is also about who to work with. every Web design, Interactive Design or Graphic designproject needs its own specific character of web designer. Another aspect is the lead in creating the design; in SA or in the overseas country.
In outsourcing to Cape Town my clients have mostly made the choice for Cape Town because the concept engineering (ce) was done from here as well, by me that is. (Concept engineering is a big word, but good ideas are of big importance), ce simply meaning being able to create good ideas matching objectives, strategy, budget and media. this sounds simple but it isn't. always frightening to see how little 'converging' people can think. think about that when outsourcing to Cape Town. If you need good webdesigners for specific webdesign in Cape Town, think about those matters.
With me interestingly it went the other way around; people knew me from projects done when still in europe and asked me to assist in the marketing set up and the ideas. Then -because the ideas were created here- it was actually interesting to actually do the design etc here as well, saving some money in the production process as well. I have in the last years for every project used different webdesigners and developers in cape town, fitting the specific brand or mindset of the project. it s fun once you know the right ones.
..it's all good.. get a tast for the radio stations in Cape Town by listening to Cape Town radio station Good Hope FM, 'it's all good' (picture the late Barry White or Cunnie Williams saying it). GHFM is the alive, young, rebel, r&b radio station: listened to by any body driving to the beach or to the clubs.

or is it the game of eating: Zebra, impala, warthog ribs, crocodile tails, eland, gemsbok and shark can all be found on menus of restaurants in and around Cape Town.
Shark lovers can lick their fingers at Khaya Nyama Restaurant in Long Street, where they serve "Mozambique brown shark", strangely enough caught in the waters around the Peninsula.
Warthog, gemsbok and eland are also on Khaya Nyama's menu.
Like shark fins? as part of your eating sea food experience in Cape Town? The Sea Palace at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, but should order it in advance. Zebra steak should visit Arnolds Restaurant in Kloof Street, Gardens (but read the comment of the owner first)
Impala: Mama Africa in Long Street recently added impala as a special to its menu, which already offers game like crocodile and kudu. (read the whole article by Arjan van Oosterhout on iol)
After many of these, I still recommend the Springbok steak in any restaurant, or ostrich (rare, medium rare max. although not after visiting an ostrich farm), venison (kudu) at Moja Restaurant in Heritage Square. Warthog is (only) best -if on the menu- in pastry at Beluga Restaurant in The Foundry in Cape Town.
